About me!

Hiya! My name is Tye.I'm a 24 year old voice actor from the UK. I'm queer, genderless and I have the softest place in my heart for pigeons. There are currently 7 that come to visit my window ledge to be fed each morning!

When I was a kid, what I wanted to be was forever changing. I wanted to be an astronaut and a firefighter. Oh and on some days I was gonna be a teacher. I also had plans to run a comedy TV show as a 12 year old with my school friends (because obviously that would've been a big hit). By College, I was on a Forensic Science course, it sounded badass! Sad to say, I did not become 'Abby' from NCIS.I had no clue who I was or who I wanted to be. The lack of direction deeply affected me. Aren't I supposed to have at least some idea of what I enjoy doing by now? Well when one feels this way, what do you do? Indulge in media about other more fun worlds of course! And after stumbling upon Dana Terrace's 'The Owl House', something clicked. Not only did it comfort my inner child’s queer self, it helped me to realise my 'thing' and it had been right in front of me. It was my lifelong love of video games and animation! There's millions of different wonderful, daring and impossible worlds filled with beloved characters, brought to life by the voices of regular people."That's it! I want to be a voice actor!"I love the ‘challenge’ of voice acting. As opposed to physical acting where you use the whole body, you’re tasked with expressing such a wide range of emotions using your voice alone AND in such ways you wouldn’t see in regular media! Honestly, that sounded perfect to me. Sure, it can be a lot of CTRL+Z and researching extensively on how to correctly use your DAW+Plugins, but that matters very little when you get to give voice and life to characters someone spent the time to create.Funnily enough, whilst I was growing up, my Dad would regularly perform his collection of voices, whether it be to exaggerate whatever inconvenienced him or a ridiculously good impression of a drooling 'Homer Simpson' whenever he smelled or ate something tasty.Outside of making my siblings and I laugh, he unknowingly placed the first bricks that I'd used to build my career in Voice Acting years later (you know what they say about apples not falling far from their tree!) Now my Dad passed away when I was 15, he didn’t get to see the person I’ve become, but the seed he planted is with me every time I step into my recording booth and I think he’d be proud.I'm extremely lucky to be in the place I am and with that, I draw this About me to a close. See you around!
